Closing on Summer Solstice.

Today, on this grand Summer Solstice, is my last day as a brick and mortar store. It is almost surreal to think about tomorrow: I will not turn my sign over to open, I will not rush to ensure goods are straightened, I will not have to answer the phone, "Organic Matters" -and it's okay.

Why? Because I will have other things to do tomorrow: I will sleep in, take my time feeding the chickens and stay up late howling at the moon. But the best part, is that my mind will get a much deserved break from trying to figure out the current game of retail. Tonight at 5pm, while I am sipping on some Pinot Grigio, I will officially take my piece off the game board and let the other merchants in La Conner collect 200.00 for passing "Go".

I am grateful to all those friends, family members and customers who have played with me over the years. Those who came in to talk, buy, create, defend, teach, befriend and listen-I want to thank each one of you for such a wonderful time. You all have impacted me in such a wonderful way. Know that because of your friendliness, you have bettered my life.

Sincerely,
Stephanie

I live in Los Angeles, and have stayed in lovely Le Conner. But I found you on line when I looked for Avalin sweaters. I purchased from you several times, and was delighted with your service. Good luck, enjoy life....every day is precious.
